What can be found at the Ottawa Parkdale farmers’ market

The Ottawa Parkdale Market is an all year round market. The spring, summer and fall are the best times of the year for obvious reasons. When I worked at Tunney’s Pasture I used to go to the market a few times a week at lunch time. It was the perfect place to get groceries for the week. They had everything from fruits, vegetables, to jams, baked goods and even roasted coffee. It is easy to take all the fresh food so near by for granted. So on this more recent trip to the Parkdale farmers’ market after no working in the area for a few years, it was nice to be reminded of what they have. It was early summer when I went this last time, so besides fruits and lots of vegetables they had flowers – lots of hanging baskets of flowers as you can see below.

I enjoy learning and sharing that knowledge. Sharing has been in many forms over the years, as a teaching assistant, university lecturer, Pilates instructor, math tutor and just sharing with friends and family. Throughout, summarizing what I have learnt in words has always been there and continues to through blog posts, articles, video and the ever growing forms of content out there!
